Small arms / light weapons

This category maps States’ positions on including ‘small arms and light weapons’ (SALW) in the scope of the Arms Trade Treaty. ‘Small arms and light weapons’ refer to conventional weapons that can be carried by an individual or a group of individuals (including revolvers, machine guns, hand-held grenade launchers; portable anti-aircraft and anti tank guns and missile systems; and mortars of calibers less than 100 mm. etc)

__ green - Expressions of support for including ‘small arms and light weapons’, or ‘SALW’ in the scope of the Arms Trade Treaty.
__ amber – Mentions of small arms and light weapons but did not advocate for it to be included, or suggested its inclusion required consideration.
__ red – Objecting to, or actively opposing the inclusion of small arms and/or light weapons.
__ black – No statement is publicly available, or has not been identified yet.
